Because we are a Pentecostal Church:
1. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus baptises believers in fire. (Matt 3:11)
- The baptism if for power in ministry. (Acts 1:8)
- Speaking in tongues is a sign of this baptism. (Acts 2:4)
2. We believe the gifts of the Spirit have not ceased. (1 Corinthians 12:4-6)
- Whenever the Church gathers, all the gifts of the Spirit are present.
- Something from the Spirit can be seen in each person. The Spirit gives this to each one to help others.
- One Spirit, the Holy Spirit, does all these things. The Spirit decides what to give each one.
3. We believe in the five-fold ministry. (Ephesians 4:11)
- All Spirit-filled believers should allow themselves to be fully utilized as servants of the Lord.
- Jesus gave these ministry gifts to prepare God’s holy people for the work of serving, to make the body of Christ stronger. This work must continue until we are all joined together in what we believe and in what we know about the Son of God. Our goal is to look just like Christ and have all his perfection.
